Superfast Broadband - Changing times at Howtown
Essential in these times, Free Superfast broadband is available in all our cottages. Those who have visited us before will know that at Howtown we are not driven by technology however we do appreciate that when taking a break from home, it is important for visitors to able to stay in contact with loved ones or even to be able to work from your chosen cottage. We can confidently say that if you need to hold Zoom/Teams / online meetings, facetime relatives or access documents on the cloud our broadband is more than capable of allowing you to work with speed and reliability.
The Heart of the Lake District
Located in the heart of the Lake District on the shores of Ullswater –our cottages are on the quiet side of the lake where peace and tranquillity pervade. Nestled under the fells, the cottages are surrounded by gardens with views over to Ullswater, Hallin Fell and Martindale Hause.
All the comfort of home
We have all been spending more times in our homes than normal over the last few months and it seems that it is now more important than ever to be able have a break away, where you and your family can have all the comfort and facilities of home at a reasonable price. Where you can still work if required but where you can relax in a complete change of environment enabling you to have a different outlook when you do eventually go home.
Walks from the doorstep
With a variety of walks right from the doorstep you can hike across the Coombs up to Martindale and Hallin, or take the lower level walk via the lakeside to the further villages of Glenridding and Patterdale. If you are feeling more adventurous trek over High Street and on to Haweswater. Head up the Fusedale valley over Pikawassa and to Steel Knotts.
