For over 100 years, Howtown Hotel has stood as a creeper-clad, stone and slate-roofed house by the shore of Ullswater in the hamlet of Howtown. Surrounded by the magnificent, unspoiled Lake District mountains, our hotel offers stunning views across Hallin Fell and Ullswater.
We are excited to offer exclusive group bookings for up to 14 guests, allowing you to enjoy the complete Howtown Hotel experience.
Our weekends are fully catered by our talented chef, Colin Akrigg. Guests can create special memories together while enjoying the warmth, comfort, and high standards for which Howtown Hotel is renowned.

Menus are created by Colin in advance and served by our experienced staff in the dining room. Our hotel bar, featuring a fully stocked wine cellar, is open for your exclusive use, making Howtown Hotel your 'home from home' for the weekend.

Howtown Tearoom
Our tearoom is open 7 days a week from 10:30 am, March to November. We offer a range of delicious homemade scones, cakes, and light lunches, including homemade bread and soup, throughout the day. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
