For over 100 years, Howtown Hotel has stood on the shores of Ullswater in the picturesque hamlet of Howtown. Surrounded by the unspoiled beauty of the Lake District mountains, our creeper-clad, stone and slate-roofed house offers stunning views across Hallin Fell and Ullswater.

We are delighted to offer exclusive-use weekends for groups of between 10 to 14 guests. Additional guests can be accommodated on request. This unique experience allows you and your guests to enjoy the warmth, comfort, and high standards for which Howtown Hotel is renowned—all to yourselves.

What’s Included in Your Stay

  • Exclusive access to the entire hotel: From 2 pm on Friday to 4 pm on Sunday.
  • Accommodation - Seven double-bedded en-suite rooms: Comfortable, characterful, providing a peaceful stay for between 10 to14 guests.  We have flexibility on single/twin rooms which can be discussed. 
  • Dining:  All meals prepared by our talented chef, Colin Akrigg:
    • Tea and scones on arrival (Friday) and Saturday afternoon.
    • Full English breakfast each morning.
    • Four-course dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings - Menus are thoughtfully created and discussed in advance and served in our elegant dining room by our experienced team.
    • Saturday lunch (a picnic option is available if required).
    • A three-course Sunday lunch.
  • Exclusive Access: The entire property is yours to enjoy for the weekend, including our lounges, TV lounge and beautiful gardens.
  • Personal Service:  While we operate with a small team, we ensure personalised attention throughout your stay to meet your needs
  • Bar and wine cellar: Our well-stocked bar and wine cellar are available for your enjoyment.  Drinks are charged separately based on consumption.
